We invite all children 10 and under to our free 1 mile fun run at the Harpers Ferry Half Marathon.
For children 10-18 we will offer free entry to our 4 mile trail run.
What's the catch? A free event? There is none, but we highly encourage the child to bring a parent to run or walk with them or volunteer.

The Half Marathon is a challenging and hilly course covering the expanse on Harpers Ferry National Historical Park and the Civil War era towns connecting them. Expansive views of the Shenandoah and Potomac Rivers, a loop through Harpers Ferry National Historical Park School House Ridge South, Murphy Farm, Lower Town Harpers Ferry, John Brown’s Fort, Bolivar, Storer College,and the homes taking you back to the 1860’s .

Our 4 Mile event is a mix of trail and includes a loop of the School House Ridge South portion of the Harpers Ferry National Park.  

And our Kids Event will be on site at River Riders and School House Ridge South.

FLOC - The Outdoor Education Center of For Love of Children facilitates healthy character development for youth and adults in a powerful outdoor classroom. Through our programming, we teach individual and group leadership skills, team building and environmental education.  The OEC provides custom designed, client focused programming consisting of 1-day to multi-day learning experiences, year round.  We house multiple hands-on environmental and science learning centers as well as adventure challenges, trainings, retreat and facility rental.
